Wadi Al-Arbieen – A True Gem in the Eastern Hajar Mountains
Hidden within a dramatic gorge in the Eastern Hajar plateau, Wadi Al-Arbieen in Quriyat is one of Oman’s most stunning wadis. Known for its abundant, crystal-clear waters and lush plantations, this valley is home to four charming villages surrounded by palm trees, bananas, lemons, and mangoes
Our adventure begins at the end of the road, where we walk between traditional farms and ancient falaj irrigation channels before stepping into the wadi itself. The journey takes us over impressive rock formations, past countless natural pools, and into the heart of pure Omani wilderness.
Along the way, refreshing swims in turquoise pools keep us energized until, after 6 km of hiking and about 3.5 hours, we finally arrive at the magnificent Al Hail waterfall — a breathtaking reward for every step.
Important to know:
• This hike is challenging and requires good fitness.
• Swimming is essential, and non-swimmers should wear a life vest.
• Always check the weather forecast before your trip — the wadi should never be visited during rain due to flash flood risk.
Wadi Al-Arbieen is not just a hike; it’s a journey through raw beauty, vibrant village life, and unforgettable natural wonders. An adventure that will test your limits — and reward you with moments of awe.
